LightedPath guides pharmacists in both loading and refilling; it ensures the correct medication is loaded in the correct shelf position within the correct door and in the correct pocket position of the correct drawer. At the same time, it guides the clinical user to the correct location and ensures access to the right medication.

The operation of LightedPath is as follows; the user logs into the system and accesses their patient. When clinical personnel wants to access medication from the station for the order made on behalf of the patient, the led lights up in the drawer or door towards the location where the medication is stored and directs the user to the exact area of the medication. The feature of LightedPath has been developed even one step further providing illuminated guidance located in the compartments within the drawers. This feature is available in all SMARTMatrix type drawers. SMARTMatrix is ​​a matrix drawer model that supports the LightedPath feature. LightedPath illuminates the pocket where the medication is within the SMARTMatrix drawer, guiding the user directly to where the medication ordered by the physician is located. If the ordered medication is behind a door instead of a drawer, the light guidance on the Lighted MedDoor medication door shelves using the LightedPath feature directs the user directly to the position of the medication on the shelf. With these features of the system, the user is provided with the right medication in a short amount of time. The system, besides preventing user errors, increases patient safety  and nursing time is optimized.

LightedPath enabled stations can be adjusted manually according to the location. With this feature, if the station is in a bright area, the light intensity can be increased, and it can be reduced in a dark area. With the night mode feature of the LightedPath, the light intensity can be automatically dimmed or turned on at specified hours, taking into account the service density of the hospital. The Night Mode feature can easily be activated at any time and light intensity hours can be adjusted. Light intensity adjustment functions have been developed to use energy resources efficiently, they contribute to environmental safety and provide sustainability.
